Lewis & Clark, AKA The Grotto

We got together with some of our friends to go on a hike. We all went to The Grotto for an easy hike.

When we got to the end, Blue Eyes found a butterfly or moth on the rocks and held it until it was ready to fly away.

On the way back to the cars we all collected interesting leaves and other plants to use for some sun art. We all got a chance to make two pictures on sun art paper with the leaves we gathered.

After arranging the leaves on the paper, we put a plastic guard over them and took them outside for the sun to develop them.

When the back of the paper turns white it's time to rinse the paper in some water to wash off the chemicals that develop the picture.

Then we leave the pictures out to dry. The back of the paper turns dark blue and the leaves turn white.

It was fun to see the pictures we made with the plants we found.
